Garlic  Allium sativum

Grows in grass-like clumps with a height of 1 foot and a width of 6 inches. The flowers are small, rose-white or green-white, clustered in 3-4 inch globes, on tall stems rising from the underground bulb. The fruit are small black seeds. The bulbs contain 8-20 cloves. Blooms from June to July.

Gentian  Gentiana lutea

Height: 3 feet, sometimes taller; width: 1 foot. Flowers are 1-inch pale yellow blooms in clusters of 3 to 10. It takes about 3 years to flower. Gentian is a mountain plant from southern Europe growing wild in pastures above a height of 3,300 ft.

German Chamomile  Matricaria chamomilla

This low, daisy-like flower grows 2-8 inches high and has a pleasantly aromatic odor when crushed. The leaves are pinnately divided and very narrow. The flowers have yellow disk-florets and white ray-florets. The center of the flower is cone-shaped.

Golden Seal  Hydrastis canadensis

Low, solitary plant on single stem with a height and width of up to 1 foot each. The root is somewhat cylindrical, very knotted, bright yellow inside with an acrid smell and taste. It grows horizontally and blooms in July.
